I went on a Kumuka Worldwide Mediterranean trip. My advice would be to book your own holiday as Kumuka is really just an overpriced bus trip and although the cost of the holiday seems quite reasonable there are lots of add on costs. The hotels were not good and were mostly out of the way - a bit Ryan Air! Almost everyone on our trip was really disappointed with Kumuka, their standards and customer service are poor; I would be interested to know if they get any repeat bookings - they certainly wont from us.

Just back from a 2 week Kumuka trip in africa, the driver, guide and cook were amazing, went to the most amazing places, saw the big 5 twice over and much more, I couldn't fault the trip. I do agree the vans are old but it did not take from the trip at all, best trip ever!

I had heard they were great in Africa but I have just completed a week overground tour with Kumuka in South America (Patagonia) and was extremely disappointed. The guide was a trainee with no local knowledge, organisational skills or enthusiasm for the job (although he spoke Spanish!) and the driver was rude and drank excessively the night before he had to drive on several occasions. The trucks are possibly the oldest on the overground circuit so check out all your options when you decide to do South America on a tour.
