Make sure it is what you want to do come hell or high water because once you give On The Go your money, you will not be getting it back. See my daughters experience at

Just returned from the Jewel of the Nile tour. Can't fault anything. Hotels, boat, service, reps, guide all fantastic. Sights were wonderful. Have been travelling 30 years and have never been looked after as well as on this tour. Won't even bother looking at other companies in the future!

I did the Pharoah's Adventure tour with an add on day trip to Alexandria with On the Go Tours. It was a great trip taking in all the monuments in Cairo and Luxor - the Pyramids are amazing!. We were met at the airport, taken to the hotel and checked in very efficiently. Our guide, Sohby was fantastic - friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable - he made the trip run very smoothly. However, a couple of things did spoil the trip - waiting to go to the train station to go to Luxor - we were taken to a 'resort hotel' to wait - we had to sit outside in the heat and dust for a couple of hours, pay to use the bathrooms for a shower (cold water) and toilet and it was obvious that we were not welcome. The train trip was not pleasant - it would have been good to have been warned about this. The optional felucca trip to banana island was literally being towed across the river by a barge, spending an hour just sitting in the local cafe and then the felucca was rowed back again, no sailing at all. There are a lot of 'optional extras'on top of the entrance fee and tip kitty taken on the first day.

Pharaohs Adventure - Originally referred to us as a small group tour of 8-10, but turned out to be a combination of different length tours combining and ended up with group of 20. Airport pickup & drops were great. First night hotel was very average. Train to Luxor, sleeper upgrade, was a disappointment - toilets not clean, cockroaches in carriages & breakfast not worth eating. Not enough time spent at some of the attractions, balanced by a lot of time sitting doing nothing. Guides were very knowledgeable, but not that motivated to ensure ALL had a great experience. Also avoid travelling during Ramadan - meal times were poorly planned by guides and everyone left to fend for themselves.

Passage to Petra - Airport transfer scary, pickup up by young 'racing car' driver. Guide very good and ensured that the group had the opportunity to bond together at meal time and considered everyones needs throughout the day. Referred to us as small group travel but 2 groups/tours combined to make a large group of 19. Hotels very average. Petra and Wadi Rum were a big highlight and the night spent at Wadi Rum camp was fantastic.

I recommend On the Go when traveling to Egypt. I was met at the airport and assisted with my hotel check in. The guides were what really stand out in this company. The tour guides are extremely friendly and helpful. We were extremely lucky to have an experienced guide who was not only informative but also fun.
