Tour Operators - Oriental Travel

This company specialises in holidays in China and their tour guides are selected personally by their London office. We were given the company's contact number in China just in case of any problems. Our 3 week China private tour with this company went without a hitch. Living in France, we were able to fly to Beijing without having to start out from London. Booking was done over the phone and when flight timetables changed we were informed immediately. In all we took 6 domestic flights which gained us a lot of time. On arrival at each airport we were met by a guide and a driver who picked us up each day and drove us around sightseeing. The big plus with this company is that they cut out the government commercial venues (unless otherwise requested), take you to the major tourist sites and yet still leave you with ample down time to either relax or explore on your own. The pace of the visits was adapted to our personal needs and interests. The hotels we stayed in were not only first class but also within easy access (walking or subway) to city centres. Amongst some of the activities: a day walking on the Great Wall, 2 days trekking Tiger Leaping Gorge, a cable car ride up a mountain, a boat ride to watch the cormorant fishermen, bamboo rafting... Difficult to recommend this company more highly.
