Elizabeth Rochford (1 September 2010)
Did the Peregrine tour of Uzbekistan, Kyrgzstan and China in September 2010. This was a rather expensive tour but the quality of the trip was, as agreed by the majority of the group, more to suited "Gecko" tours. The hotels were very basic (not worth the price of the trip) and to spoil things even more, we (another group of Peregrine travellers) were left stranded for 6 hours on the Kyrgzstan/Chinese border in freezing snowing weather because the Chinese guides were sent to the incorrect border crossing. When I wrote to Peregrine about my disappointment in the trip I was thanked for my feedback but I received, what I think, was a very condescending, patronising and trivalising response. I told Peregrine that it was my first tour with them and would definitely be my last - to which the "service officer" replied that he/she wished me all the best for my future travels. Peregrine in no way tried to retain me as a client. I am a frequent traveller and they have lost a good client. Stay away from Peregrine!

Did a trip through central Asia with peregrine... left an awful lot to be desired, our small group on occasions joined with another of their groups and so from 12 we became 20-20....guides were local people who were either stretched into meeting all arrangements (apart from Samarkand) or in one case on her first trip, and had no idea... some accommodation was below what we had paid for, definitely look for local operator for a central Asia tour or UK groups seemed to be well organised, would not recommend them and definitely would not use them again organised.
Rhoda Cashman (4 November 2011)
Did The Colours of Rajasthan. Good group of travellers. Had plenty of laughs. Tour leader, though very pleasant, could have done more 'up front of the bus' explaining of the various sights along the way, otherwise most helpful. The long 10 hour journey on the last day was particularly trying as it was mostly over incredibly bad roads an we had a flat tyre. My congratulations to the driver and his side-kick - they were superb in their job. I would suggest this last stage of the journey could be modified.
