Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI)
Overview
Situated 10 miles (16km) southeast of Bridgetown in Christchurch, Grantley Adams International Airport is one of the main air traffic hubs in the east Caribbean, and the largest airport in Barbados.
The airport has a single runway, but has recently expanded with a new arrivals hall and retail concourse that has eased congestion and improved the overall experience. Flights to Grantley Adams International Airport are available daily to destinations in the Caribbean, North America, The UK and Europe.
Location
The airport is situated 10 miles (16km) east of Bridgetown, near Christchurch.
Getting to the city
There is a regular bus service to the city that departs every 10 minutes and a 24-hour taxi service (travel time 30 minutes). Taxi fares are fixed by the government, however vehicles are unmetered so fares should be established in advance.
