Corfu International Airport (CFU)
Overview
The only tiny airport on a tiny island, Corfu International Airport is the main gateway to the sunny holiday destination in the Greek islands. With the official name of Corfu Ioannis Kapodistrias International Airport, the facility is primarily a seasonal facility, with most of its flights occurring in the summer months between April and October.
The small facility has modest amenities that can be overwhelmed by the summer crowds, so passengers should book early and bring all of their patience with them. That said, there are a few duty-free shops and snack bars in the airport, and a 24-hour restaurant (open only in summer).
Corfu International Airport is located on the outskirts of Corfu Town, roughly 1.8 miles (3km) from the town centre and accessible by bus or taxi.
Location
3km south of Corfu
Time
GMT +2 (GMT +3 between last Sunday in April and last Sunday in October).
Rhodes Diagoros International Airport (RHO)
Overview
Rhodes Diagoras International Airport is the fourth-busiest airport in Greece and it serves close to four million passengers annually. It's a great airport to use as an entry-point to many popular resorts on the Greek coast.
Summer is peak season for holidaymakers wishing to soak up the sun in a Greek island paradise and as such it is often much more difficult to book flights to Rhodes Diagros International Airport during the summer months as the flights sell out quickly. Rhodes Airport is well equipped to deal with the summer hordes making it a fast and efficient airport to use when holidaying in Greece.
Location
The airport is located just nine miles (14km) from Rodos on the island of Rhodes in Greece.
Getting to the city
A public bus runs from the airport into town. Tickets cost just €2 and the bus runs between 6.50am and 11.05pm. There are eleven buses each day. They leave from a bus station 300m from the terminal after Exit 1. The trip into town takes 40 minutes. Metered airport taxis are also available from outside the terminal.

Heraklion International Airport (HER)
Overview
Located three miles (5km) east of Crete's capital, Heraklion International Airport is among the busiest in Greece, serving roughly five million passengers each year. The facility is well-run, but can be unpleasantly hot and crowded in the peak summer season.
Flying into Heraklion International Airport is an exciting experience for passengers, as the runway is only a few metres from the shore; however airport authorities do not allow pictures to be taken of the runway as the facility is jointly used by civil and military aircraft.
Heraklion International Airport's future is limited, as the airport is scheduled to be decommissioned entirely by the year 2015, when a new airport in Kastelli Pediados is completed.
Location
The airport is located three miles (5km) east of Heraklion on Crete.
Time
GMT +2 (GMT +3 between last Sunday in April and last Sunday in October).
Kos Island International Airport (KGS)
Overview
Locally referred to as Hippocrates Airport after the famous doctor, Kos Island International Airport is located on the island of Kos, roughly 16 miles (26km) southwest of the town of the same name. Popular with tourists who use the town as a base while exploring the Greek islands, Kos Island International Airport is the sixth-busiest airport in Greece, particularly in the peak summer season.
The small terminal processes roughly two million passengers per year, and has a reputation for being disorganised and chaotic during busy periods, with long queues snaking around the terminal. Passengers flying to Kos Island International Airport should bring a lot of patience.
Flights to Kos Island International Airport are available in the summer months from cities around Europe, including London, Amsterdam, Prague, Zurich, Tel Aviv and Frankfurt. During the winter however, the only flights to Kos are domestic routes from Athens, Thessaloniki, Leros and Rhodes.
Location
Kos Island International Airport is located roughly 16 miles (26km) southwest of Kos Town.

Mykonos Island National Airport all but shuts down in the off season, with limited flights available to Athens.
