Possible delays at Mumbai International Airport

Repair work on a runway intersection at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport near Mumbai will begin today, 27 October and will place every Tuesday until March 2010, with the intersection point being temporarily closed between 12pm and 6pm. Although airlines have been informed and many flights have been rescheduled, flight delays may still occur and travellers are advised to contact their airline ahead of time if using this airport. Outbreak of Japanese Encephalitis in India

Seven children have succumbed to Japanese encephalitis in eastern Uttar Pradesh in India, taking the death toll in the deadly brain fever to 30 in the month of November alone. Of the total 2,839 cases of Japanese Encephalitis and Acute Encephalitis Syndrome reported from the region this year, 496 patients have died, Rawat said. Travellers in the area are urged to remain aware of the situation.
Qatar launches flights to Goa

Holidaymakers planning to visit India now have to option to fly to Goa on Qatar Airways. The carrier is now offering four weekly flights direct from Doha and will join the airlines list of Indian destinations which already include Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai. In December this year, Qatar will also launch flights to Melbourne, its very first Australian destination, with flights to Sydney being introduced soon after. Read More at Just the Flight

India is a feast for the senses; where the air is heavy with the scent of jasmine and dancers trail frenetic melodies in colourful silk saris. Its cooks compose dishes from a palette of exotic spices that may leave a lingering taste of saffron or aniseed. In India's cities, the stench of slum living competes with the cacophony of seemingly endless traffic and a myriad of other textures, colours and movements all jostling for your attention.
