Almaty International Airport (ALA)

Location: The airport is situated 10 miles (16km) north of the city centre.
Time: GMT +6.
Contacts: Tel: +7 (3272) 572 009.
Getting to the city: Local buses 439, 492 and 497 run from the airport to the City Air Terminal in the centre and further (T20/ 30-40 mins). Trolleybuses 13 and 17 serve the airport every 10 minutes (T10/ 40 mins). Taxis take 30 minutes to the city centre and cost around T700.
Car rental: An Argus car hire office is on site.
Facilities: Facilities include an airport hotel, bureau de change, auto exchange machine, cafeterias, bars, VIP lounge, duty free shop, newsagent/tobacconist, chemist and first aid.
Parking: There are parking facilities for 320 cars.
Departure Tax: None.
