Airports in Mauritius
Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, or Mauritius International Airport, is located approximately 26 miles (48km) south-east Port Louis in Mauritius. It comprises of a single terminal building with Arrivals on the ground floor and Departures on the upper level.
The airport only caters for passengers, which means that there
is no landside part of the building. Although generally efficient,
passengers at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport
should expect some queues or delays during peak holiday season. In
general, the airport is exactly what one would expect of an island
airport. It has its charm, but what passengers are really after are
the beaches once they've exited the airport building.
The airport is 26 nautical miles (48km) southeast of Port Louis.
Getting to the city
There are three bus services that operate to and from SSR International Airport: Bus 09, Bus 10 and Bus 198. Buses are fairly frequent but the journey takes over an hour to most major destinations on the island; passengers should factor this in to their travel time. Taxis are also available.
Local time is GMT +4
Tel: +230 603 6000.
Mauritius International Taxis: the taxi fares above are intended as a guideline only.
