Climate

Four distinct seasons characterise the Slovak climate, with warm summers and cold winters. Spring and autumn are the best times of year to visit because of the mild weather and fewer tourists. The mountains are the coldest part of the country, and also the wettest, experiencing rain in summer and snow in winter. The main ski season runs from December to March or April.
