South Sudan Currency

Money

The official currency is now the South Sudanese Pound, which is divided into 100 piastres. However, the old Sudanese Pound will still be in use for a few more months while it's phased out. It's a good idea to carry cash (preferably US Dollars) rather than relying on credit card facilities. Travellers cheques are often not accepted.
