Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK)
Overview
With wellness spas, Thai massages, duty-free shops and a great selection of restaurants offering cuisines from around the globe, Suvarnabhumi International Airport is one of the best airports to use while in South East Asia. It is Thailand's busiest airport and the third-busiest in Asia. Over 42.7 million passengers use Suvarnabhumi International Airport each year.
Suvarnabhumi means 'Golden Land' in Sanskrit and truly is the gateway to the riches of Asia. Passengers are spoilt for choice when it comes to shopping options at the airport. It also boasts the world's largest single-building passenger terminal and the tallest control tower in the world. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful as they are eager to ensure that all passengers get a world-class experience when using Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
Location
The airport is situated 19 miles (30km) east of Bangkok.
Getting to the city
The free shuttle bus (Express route) transports passengers to the Transport Centre from where public buses, taxis and rental cars can be found. Taxis can also be found on Level 1 at Arrivals. Public buses run several routes from the Transport Centre to Bangkok, while the Airport Express provides air-conditioned coaches between the airport and first-class hotels in downtown Bangkok. There is also a Limousine Service counter on the 2nd floor of the arrivals hall.

Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX)
Location
The airport is situated 2 miles (4km) from Chiang Mai.
Getting to the city
Taxis are available for travel to Chiang Mai, 100 Baht/15 minutes. A shared taxi will cost 40 Baht. Fares should be agreed in advance. The Airport does not allow public tricycle and pick-up cars to enter the airport area; those can be accessed outside the airport area. Many hotels arrange transport and public buses are only advised for serious budget travellers.

Phuket International Airport (HKT)
Overview
Phuket is the dream destination for hedonists, sun-seekers and island adventurers alike. Phuket International Airport offers travellers a quick and easy way to transit from the airport to the pristine beaches and relaxing massage parlours of one of the world's favourite holiday destinations.
The airport offers tourists a number of last-minute shopping opportunities, but it is generally designed to allow passengers more time on the beach and less time in queues in the terminal. The locals will greet you with broad smiles and offers of easy transport connections to the city as you begin your sultry island adventure.
Location
The airport is situated 20 miles (32km) northwest of Phuket.
Getting to the city
Taxis are the most convenient way to Phuket, but fares should be agreed in advance. An Airport Bus also offers transfers to town. Many hotels also offer transport.

Bangkok Don Mueang International Airport (DMK)
Overview
Don Mueang International Airport is a small secondary facility located 15 miles (25km) outside of Bangkok. The facility was once a major international airport, however it closed in 2006 when the new Suvarnabhumi Airport was built and only reopened in 2007 to in response to complaints about the new facility.
Mostly used for charter flights and a few low-cost domestic airlines now, only one of the airport's three terminals is in operation. Despite the 'ghost town' feeling, the airport is still a well-run facility with a handful of shops and fast-food outlets for entertainment.
Location
The airport is situated 15 miles (24km) north of Bangkok.
Getting to the city
Taxis are available from the stand in front of Arrivals. An airport surcharge of THB 50 is added to the fare. Airport buses are available for THB 100 and take you downtown. They leave from the platform in front of the Arrivals hall at Terminal 1 and from below 'Bus Stop Airport Bus' signs. Trains at Don Muang Railway Station (500m from the Arrivals Hall) run from 6am to 8pm. The fare to Bangkok with an ordinary diesel train is THB 5. Public buses to Bangkok railway station and other main destinations in the city are also available.
