Climate

The United Arab Emirates has a sub-tropical arid climate, and straddling the Tropic of Cancer, it tends to be warm in winter, with hot and humid conditions in the summer months. Average temperatures in Sharjah, for example, can range between 54°F and 73°F (12°C to 23°C) in January, and 82°F to 102°F (28°C to 38°C) in August. Humidity in the coastal regions is very high, usually more than 85%. The UAE experiences very little rain, more often than not only short showers, and the wettest months are limited to February and March. Summer time can bring localised thunderstorms, while prevailing winds can create sandstorms.
