Climate

Alambama has a temperate climate and summers are usually long, hot and humid. Known for its tornado season, the state usually experiences an average of 23 storms per season, between March and May. Winters in southern Alabama can be mild as winds from the Gulf of Mexico bring warm air, whereas the northern areas are much cooler. Snow occasionally falls in the northern regions and frosts are periodic.
