Climate
Alaska's climate is extremely varied due to the size of the state and its six different topographic regions. Summer temperatures in the lowlands are high averaging around 61°F (16°C) and have sometimes reached 90°F (32°C) and up. The far north however, is extremely dry and cold, experiencing Arctic conditions with temperatures averaging about -20°F (-29°C).
