Climate

The climate of Florida is almost tropical, though temperatures are modified by its coastal location, and with 300 days of sunshine per year on average, it is no surprise that sunshine and blue skies are the norm in the 'Sunshine State'. Florida has two climatic zones - subtropical in the south and warm temperate in the north. Severe weather can occur, however, and central Florida experiences more lightening strikes than anywhere else in the US. Thunderstorms are common, and the hurricane season is between June and November.
