Cape Canaveral port
Overview: This small beach community, on the north point of Florida's coast, is a lively aerospace industry hub, a tourist oriented town, and home to miles of protected marine sanctuary.

The Cape is synonymous with Kennedy Space Center where NASA's space flights depart, and is also a popular beach to watch sea turtles lay their eggs and hatch.

Millions of passengers a year flow through the six cruise terminals at one of the busiest ports in the world. Most cruise vessels will berth at either terminals 2, 3, or 4 which are specifically built to accommodate cruise ships. Others sometimes dock at terminals 8, 9, and 10. All terminals are near to one another and provide all conceivable amenities for dining, shopping, entertainment, and further transportation.

The port authority office is on 200 George King Boulevard

Transport: The port is often the start or end of the cruise which will provide transportation from the airport in Orlando. Taxis can be easily hailed from any of the cruise terminals which, besides renting a car, is the best method for visiting sites, none of which are within easy walking distance.
Attractions: The Kennedy Space Center is the best and most popular attraction including museums, space flight simulators and interviews with astronauts. Some may even see a space flight launch. Technically part of NASA, the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge has the most endangered species of any animal refuge in the US such as manatees and nesting sea turtles. The beaches are also hugely popular surf spots.

Shopping: Surfers and the curious can visit the famous Ron Jon Surf Shop for a huge selection of beach products. There are a few shopping facilities at the port or many at Merritt Square Mall. The space centre also has a great gift shop.
