Northern Ireland has a weather pattern typical of the United Kingdom, and the country's temperate maritime climate means that it is usually mild in winter and cool in summer. The western region of Northern Ireland tends to be wetter than the east, though cloud cover is experienced throughout the country, with plenty of overcast days and rain spread throughout the year. The Northern Ireland climate is erratic and changeable, and although it experiences the four seasons, they tend to not be as distinct as other parts of Europe.
