Airports in Rhode Island
T.F. Green Airport was named after Theodore Francis Green, Rhode Island's former governor and senator. It is a short drive from Providence and handles close to four million passengers each year.
T.F. Green's terminal contains only the bare essentials and a couple of dining venues for passengers only. The staff are friendly and helpful and there's a great massage therapy business for passengers spending extra time at the airport.
The airport is located about six miles (10km) from Providence.
Getting to the city
Rhode Island Public Transit Route 8 connects the airport to downtown Providence, stopping at the InterLink facility on Jefferson Boulevard. Peter Pan Bus Lines provides service from the airport to central Providence, Foxboro, and Boston, with a bus stop located at the far end of the commercial roadway in front of the airport. On weekdays MBTA commuter rail service is available between Southern Rhode Island (Wickford Junction), Green Airport and downtown Providence. An airport shuttle is also available from T.F. Green Airport to Courtyard Marriott, Omni, Biltmore, Hotel Providence, RI School of Design, Brown University, Marriott (Orms St.), Providence AMTRAK station and the Renaissance Hotel.
