Climate

West Virginia's mountains experience significant snowfalls in the winter, and conditions during this time of year are cold throughout the state, with the exception of some low-lying areas and valleys in the southwestern and eastern panhandle regions, which have milder winters. Summers tend to be warm to hot and humid. The state boasts amazing fall foliage, which makes autumn an enjoyable time to visit.
