Does anyone know how I can obtain CFA, Senegalese currency, in New York so that we will have cab fare when we arrive in Dakar? Neither my home bank, American Express, nor AAA carries it....

blauner - you can change dollars into CFA on arrival at the airport. And in just case bring some $10 and $20 notes to cover the cab ride as there is not a taxi drier on earth that doesn't accept dollars.

Hi,
You can get Cfa currency if you contact Senegalese 's community in New york.Otherwise you can make change at the airport at any time on arrival.You can make change also in the various banks of Dakar.So don't worry about getting Cfa when coming to Senegal.Welcome
