South and Central America: Volcán Arenal – Best Fortuna Accommodation?

I am travelling to Costa Rica and would like to see Volcán Arenal but am not sure where to stay. Is Fortuna my best option for accommodation and if so, can anyone suggest some good hotels or guest houses?

Hi,

Yes, La Fortuna is the town that serves Volcano Arenal. You can either stay in the town itself, which is 17km from the Volcano with access to restaurants, bank, bars, supermarket, etc, or stay at one of the lodges on the road that leads to the Volcano and Lake Arenal.
