I am planning a trip to playa del carmen in november with my husband and two small children, I have visited this area many times in the past, but never with children and now with all the violence in mexico is it truly safe??

Hi,

I lived in Mexico on Isla Mujeres for 2 years and never had any problems regarding safety. Of course, you hear about things happening, just as they happen in my own home town. Unfortunately, in this day and age nowhere is "truly safe". But overall for the amount of tourists that visit Mexico the number of incidents is very low.
