Hey :)

I'm going to New York on a school trip this Saturday (24th October). I've got my $720 and $500 of it is in traveler's cheques. The problem is some of the girls at school have been told that they aren't allowed to cash the cheques in New York if they're under 16. I'm 15 - I've already got my cheques, and I called American Express and they said I could buy them if I was old enough to sign and countersign - which I am, as I've already signed them - but buying isnt the problem, it's cashing them. We're going shopping and have to pay for meals and everything, and if I'm left only able to use $250, I'll be stuck.

Anyone know the rules and what I should do?
