Hi, which ski resorts are close to Geneva for me to ski over a weekend?

Chamonix is a must for you. There is easy access via bus (alpybus.com) from Geneva airport. Definitely stay overnight in Chamonix as the drive is 1.5 hours.

Think about Verbier. My friend has a BnB on the slopes - you can ski out your door to the lift. Verbier is located around 2 hours from Geneva by train. Let me know if you want details. Chamonix is also a great resort - only one hour from Geneva with great skiing, particularly for advanced skiers. For independent reviews ski resorts near Geneva see: Ski Resorts in Europe

The whole Portes du Soleil ski area is also close to Geneva. Resorts there include Morzine, Chatel, Les Gets, Avoriaz.

Some of the resorts are quite low so not ideal for late season skiing. More information at http://www.portesdusoleil.com/index.html

There are quite a lot to chose from... champery, avoriaz, les diablerets and verbier are all good options. And they're all within one and a half to two hours from geneva more or less.

Hi Davidf
I have just come across your post about your friends B&b and am wondering if you would mind sending me the details of this as I am looking at staying in the resort in January for a week, and it would be good to go from a recommendation. Many thanks
