Can you give me a recommendation for a couple who want to travel to a quiet resort in Malaysia or Thailand. They would preferably like to stay in a water villa – not commercialized. Travel is in November for 7 nights and they are looking at 4/5 star. It is for their wedding anniversary and they are in their 40’s.

Most of Thailand is commercialised but there are still a few unspoilt places left, such as Koh Lanta which lies on the west coast of Andaman Sea in between Krabi and Phi Phi Island. This website gives a good listing of accommodations on Koh Lanta: www.lantalanta.com As far as Malaysia goes, Tanjung Rhu Resort is a wonderful place to stay for a romantic getaway. It's listed here, as well as four other 5 star accommodations: http://www.malaysiaholidays.com.au/destinations/honeymoons

I hope this proves helpful!

the berjaya langkawi beach and spa resort have always maintained good reputation for holiday getaways and their rooms offer splendid view of the sea. the url is:

langkawi four seasons is slightly pricier but you are basically getting exactly what you're paying for. url:

however, langkawi might be seen as being too commercialized therefore i would recommend going to miri marriott resort and spa in sarawak, a five star hotel which is a really great choice to go for honeymooners in their 40's as the place offers practicality and luxury. it offers full or partial sea view while at the same time is not too far away from the city center or the airport.
