My husband and I are going to Corfu in August - this is our visit to Corfu.
We are heading to Paleokatrista (think that'shouw us spelll it?) and just
wanted to know a little about the area. We are in our mid fifties - but not
"fuddy duddys"
Anyone if our age group been before? Thought we would hire a car for 2/3 days - good or bad idea?
You will love it - been going there since I was a young girl in 1980 and still going back - we go for a week in July. It is stunning, and there are no loud bars, just beautiful tavernas with some music and greek entertainment. There are no naf shops, just a functional place which is still very Greek. Care hire - umm - roads are tricky and don't be tempted to go to the touristy places - some are NOT nice, but into the mountains (Liapades for example) and you are going to have your breath taken away.
dorothy ... you will love love love it, we went in may this year, its so pretty , lovely little bays, nice tavernas, lots of lovely fresh fish... you must get a car or scooter the roads are fine . we had a scooter for the week and tooted around all the villages . enjoy.
