I was told that Hungary does not use checks. Is this true?

Hi Shelley,

Do you mean traveler checks or personal checks? Anyhow they are both not welcomed in HUngary, I would say in whole Europe. You cant pay with it. If you exchange it very high commission is going to be taken. You are better off with EUROS, almost everywhere you can use it except the official places such as post office, pharmacy, cab drivers...
