Train tickets from Rome to Venice

    I am trying to book train tickets via trenitali.com for a one-way trip between Rome and Venice. The website keeps denying my credit card and I was wondering if there was any other way to purchase tickets in advance.

    Try a different credit card. I waisted hours trying to buy an airline ticket in U.S.A. with American Express. The web site would not
    accept an amex card whose owner had a residential address outside of America. I found this surprising but ended up using our Visa
    debit card (credit card acceptance also on this card in Australia) with immediate success. In Italy however, the only card that the
    autostrata toll would accept was amex. Tried several times to use Visa with no luck.

    Also check that your card is enabled for internet payments eg Mastercard's Securecode. Trenitali also requires you to register before you buy
