less than six months remaining on passport- Turkey

Hi
My passport is valid until Jan 2010 and we are travelling to Turkey on Friday. however i have just found out that we require six months clear to travel and mine has about four and a half months. Are they really strict on this? Do you know of anyone that has been refused entry because of this?

Hi Jo - You won't be allowed to leave the US until your passport is cleared. I know this because it happened to a friend of mine traveling to Europe a few months ago.
