Best way to go to Eilat from Tel Aviv?

I'm heading to Israel, syaying in Tel Aviv and planning to visit the beautiful Eilat.
What's the best mode of transport to get from Tel Aviv to Eilat? I've heard it's way faster to fly, but is there a cheaper option?
Any buses? I don't drive so a rental car is out of the question. Can anyone help me?

Take the local Egged bus - cheap, regular and you get to see the scenery.

As one who'll participate the conference in Eilat
I'll just wanted to let you know that flights with Arkia & Israir are available to Eilat
from Tel aviv (Sde Dov) in case that driving option is not your favorit
