Should people who suffer from bad seasonal allergies avoid living in Japan?
  • My wife and I have always wanted to live abroad but have discovered that her seasonal allergies are far worse than we had originally thought. Since living in South Carolina, she has had (8) sinus infections in less than (2) years. There is no pattern to them because they never really stop. The symptoms subsid for a short while until it rains or we have a windy day and then the cycle begins again.

The reason that I ask this question is that we want to live on either Iwokuni or Okinawa but I have not been able to find out how if people with seasonal allegies are advised to avoid living there or not. Is the main land any better? If they are, how do they cope since the Japanese governement is so strict on the use of sinus medication? By the way, why is that the case? Any information that you are able to provide would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Knutz
