I need to go to Qatar sometimes to see friends. I have a 5 year multiple entry visa from Saudi Arabi

I have a valid USA passport and I used to get a visitor visa if I wanted to drive to Qatar and then return back to Saudi Arabia later to work. I heard starting May 1 , 2010 you cannot get visitor visa's upon entering the country. What do I need to do now So I can visit the country?
