Islands in Thailand without sandflies?

Can anyone tell me which Thai islands are guaranteed free of sand flies - those little insects that cause sores on your legs. I went to Koh Chang and got badly eaten by sandflies and don't want to repeat the experience this time.

Hey Brian,

From my experience of Thailand I found that the Islands on the South east, Koh Tao, Samui and Pha Ngan all where free of sandflies. Koh Chang has a particularly moist wet season and so is a breading ground for sandflies.

There are sand flies on Koh Phangan. Avoid Chaloklum area beaches.
