Hi, my New Zealand passport is expiring in just over five months time and my friends in Israel have booked my tickets to leave in a few days time.

I am living in London. I have a right of abode here for the UK, and also have British citizenship. I don't have a British passport.

I am going to help someone in Israel, and I am not going just for a holiday. Can I simply extend my New Zealand passport?

Or will the NZ consulate simply want me to get an emergency passport? It seems that I won't qualify for an emergency one because I still have my passport i.e I haven't lost it, had it stolen, and it has not been defaced.

Please let me know as soon as anyone has some information about this as it is getting very urgent.
