Jordan travel safety

    Is is safe to travel in Jordan as a westerner? Is there are security risks and crime targeted at Westerners? I want to visit Amman and Petra, travelling by road. Are there any terrorist issues, road safety problems or violent crime I should know about it? Hopefully my biggest risk will be getting overcharged by crafty vendors. Any advice or comments much appreciated. Thanks!

    Jordan is a safe country. I have made many programs there for a lot of US And Canadian tourists and they really enjoyed there very much. also, it takes less than a week to visit the most of Jordan (Amman, Petra, Dead Sea, Madaba, Wadi Rum, Mount Nebo where Moses the prophet buried there).
