Are there any ferry operators in South Africa to book ferries from Athens(Greece) to Alexandria (Egypt) - probably around December 17?

Hi Peter,

As best we can tell the ferry service between Greece and Egypt has been suspended indefinitely.

You may be able to find a complex route (e.g. http://gogreece.about.com/od/hydrofoilsferries/a/greeceegypt.htm) but it is not bookable in advance from South Africa.

Not directly any more. The best option is to go via Cyprus on Louis Cruises. They seem to travel between Port Said in Egypt and several destinations in Greece.
