What is the weather like in South Africa? My next mission's trip will be this July in Kayamida, South Africa for about 2 1/2 weeks. I would like to know what type of clothes I should be wearing when I am there. What do I need to pack? How cold does it get in South Africa during the winter season?

Hi Taylor, the weather can get cold in South Africa in winter, especially in the evenings, but it does depend where you are. I have not heard of Kayamida, what part of the country is it in?

Taylor - do you mean Khayalitsha township outside Cape Town?

July is rainy and cold in Cape Town. Temperatures get down to 8C and you can expect daily rainfall.

Cape Town's winter is very cold and wet. It rains almost every day in winter. So just pack warm clothes.

Never heard of Kayamida either? there is Kayamina in Gauteng? In the Gauteng area, cold and dry - lots of warm clothes but layers, you may want to take off a jacket or two at noon! Welcome to SA!

Like to know is it good to travel in Mid of June to Capetown, how is the weather and is it advisable to take the garden route from capetown and return by night to take the next day morning flight from Capetown.
