Day Trips from Nice

My husband and I will be spending 4 days in NIce in June. We are planning a day trip to Monaco and would also like to take a day trip
to somewhere fairly close in Provence.
Is it easy to go to Aix en Provence?Is there a tour of the lavendar route that can be booked from Nice?
We speak decent French but do not want to rent a car
