Where is the best place to see cherry blossoms this April?

    Where are the best places to go for cherry blossom festivals? I was planning to go to Japan for the cherry blossom festivals, but with the recent events I've decided rather not to. I'd still like to see cherry blossom trees, though, and I've heard there are other cities that have lots of them. I'm based in the US, but wouldn't mind going abroad if it's worth it. Please help!

    South Korea has some beautiful cherry blossom festivals. While I was living there, I went to one in Gyeongju, and it was lovely.

    Not sure I'd have made a special trip out from the States to see it, but still...

    South Korea is a fantastic place to see cherry blossoms in spring, but there are a few cities in the US that have great displays too. Washington DC is probably the most famous. Here's a link to an article on the Word Travels Blog about cherry blossom festivals.
