Children's passports expiry dates

Please can someone tell me if we travel to Turkey this month with my 12 yr old sons passport that expires in August,will this be ok?

I don't think it will be alright as I believe that you need to have at least 6 months on the passport when you return

It is 6 months that needs to be left on the passport, i had the same problem as my daughters expires in August and we travel there next month
