Would English be enough to communicate in Madagascar? I am planning a stop in Madagascar during November 2011 coming out of India en route to South Africa, however, I do not speak French but English, Spanish and several Germanic languages. Obviously in hotels there will be some staff who can handle English amongst other languages. I would prefer to hear from local Madagascar people how common English usage may be in restaurants, shops or at transportation hubs.
