Travel to Australia While Waiting for 457 Work Visa Application to Process

    Currently in sales, I am managing the Australian territory remotely from the United States. I am waiting for my 457 Work VISA to be approved.

    Is it possible to go to Australia on a travel VISA while my 457 Work Visa is going through the application process?

    The appropriate information can be found on the Department of Immigration and Citizenship site, specifically http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/skilled-workers/sbs/
    Relevant section seems to be under Processing Arrangements. Here it says "If you have applied for a visa, do not make arrangements to move to Australia. Do not leave your employment, sell your home or book travel arrangements until you are advised in writing that you have been granted a visa."
    Probably not what anyone wantas to hear, sorry!
