Where is the best diving in Australia?
  • Please let me know where you think is the best diving in Australia?
  • Hi @Goddie.......
    HMAS Brisbane artificial reef in Moreton Bay has lots of sea life on it now. It's an old war ship that was sunk in 2005 for the purposes of cultivating a new habitat for sea life. You can reach it by a 20 min boat ride out from
    Mooloolaba through a licenced dive tour operator or by obtaining a permit for a private dive from Maroochy Tourism..
  • The most famous diving spot is Queensland, where one could find the Great Barrier Reef and the Sunshine Coast. Dubbed the Sunshine state, Queensland has several magnificent diving locations.

    Below is the list of Dive Sites in Australia
    * Queensland
    (The Great Barrier Reef, Cairns & Port Douglas, Gold Coast, Bundaberg & Hervey Bay, )
    * New South Wales
    (Lord Howe Island, Jervis Bay, Coffs Harbour, Byron Bay)
    * Victoria
    (Wilsons Promontory, Melbourne, Port Campbell)
    * South Australia
    (Mt Gambier, Victor Harbor, Adelaide, Yorke Peninsula)
    * Western Australia
    (Ningaloo Reef, Esperance, Albany))
    * Tasmania
    (Bicheno, Port Davey, Maria Island, Freycinet)
    * Northern Territory
    (Darwin, Gove Peninsula)
  • Bundaberg is where the Great Barrier Reef officially begins in the south, and the area offers some great dive deals, without the crowds of some of the more popular venues
