Snow in Switzerland in December
  • What time of the year can I expect the most snow in Switzerland? I was thinking about skiing in December
  • It snows all year in Switzerland. The snow line is generally below 1000m from December until March, and precipitaton above that altitude falls as snow.
  • The snow really starts falling in November, but there won't be a decent base for skiing until mid December. Snow is generally unreliable under about 1500m even in mid winter. The ski season ends towards the end of April.
  • The snow starts falling in November but for most snow falling in mid december. December is best month for snow falling in Switzerland. Mostly travelrs want to go to Switzerland in Mid December.
  • the swiss holidays - sorry but that is nonsense, many runs are not open in Swiss ski resorts in mid December and although resorts are packed over Christmas and New Year, December is otherwise quiet. Yes there can be lots of snow in December in Switzerland, but there is often not a good base. Snow is more reliable in January and February, and March and April are popular as the weather is warmer and children are on school holidays.
  • This is the a peak season of skiing becaue of the snow in many parts of the world. If you are a good skier then you will certainly have a ball there. Moreover whole of the Europe covered by the snow & you will get perfect snow for skieng from January till march. So this is the perfect time to put on your skiing boots and have loads of fun.
