  • Hi - we are thinking of taking a holiday in the Maldives and I want to find out the best time to go. It is going to be pretty expensive whenever we go, so I want to make sure it doesnt rain! When is the best time to visit the Maldives - we are thinking about going in March April or May - anyone been there then, or who can recommend another time - how about over Christmas - December / January?

    thanks in advance...

  • There is no bad time to go to the Maldives, with good weather throughout the year. But April is one of the best times to visit the Maldives with clear water (for diving) and hot weather. The dry north east monsoon season (with little rain and lower humidity) takes place in December, January, February and March, while the wet south western monsoon (which has stronger winds and rain) from May, June, July, August, Septemmber and November. The temperature on the islands remains pretty consistent at around 30°C all year round. Prices are of course more expensive over Christmas and New Year and over Easter. Other than Easter, the cheapest months are the European summer months - from March to October (this is also the best time for surfing in the Maldives).
  • Maldives is best to visit Throughout the year, But from April to October is said to be the rainy seasons. Though it is rainy seasons it doesn't rain like cat & Dog. During this period it is considered as lower season or off peak season in Maldives and the rates are very low that anybody can afford to visit Maldives. But from October to march is the High season. Average temperature is 26 to 3030°C year round. If is nice to dive and surf year round.
  • hi guys! i'm planning to go to Maldives, is a Visa required?

  • Have a look at this site for a month by month guides to the weather in the Maldives: best time to go to the Maldives.
  • Hii the best time to visit the Maldives between December and April, which is the dry season. This is the high season, however, and resorts can be fully booked and prices are higher than the rest of the year. The Christmas-New Year period is the busiest and most expensive part of the high season. Between May and November it's still warm, but the skies can be cloudy, humidity is higher and rain is more likely. This is the low season, and there are fewer tourists and prices are lower. The transition months of November and April are said to be associated with increased water clarity and better visibility for divers.
    Have a Joyful Yatra..wenever u visit Maldives...

  • is january the right time to visit maldives?
    is the sea rough ?
  • Hi, I'm planning to visit Maldives early of Aug 2013. How's the weather there?
  • Jovi, August is a good time to visit. It's sunny most of the time. Have you booked a hotel ?
  • how many hours of sun is there on Maldives in august/september ?
  • The Maldives always gets plenty of sun, even in the rainy season between April and October. The rainy season is not usually intense and many people prefer to travel to the Maldives off-peak because it is a bit cheaper and less crowded. It is hot year-round and the water is always warm enough for watersports. The best months for a scuba diving holiday are November and April. In August/September you should get pleasant enough weather and plenty of hours of sun.
  • It really doesn’t matter which period of the year you decide to head over to the Maldives. The climate is superb regardless of where you end up at. However do consider residing at Adaaran Prestige Water Villas which is a good abode to be based at. While staying here you could have planet of space to unwind amidst breathtaking beaches and a number of outdoor activities.
