Best time to visit the Bahamas on holiday
  • Hello - we are planning our winter holiday go get away from the horrendous weather here in England. I have always wanted to go the Bahamas - our travel agent says it is lovely to visit any time of year, but it would be useful to know the best time to visit the country. What is the Bahamas like over Christmas and Easter - we are quite flexible timings wise so could go in November or February if those months were less expensive or had better weather. Looking forward to hearing from someone.
  • The Bahamas is not especially hot in midwinter. For sunbathing weather, go for autumn (say, October or November) or early spring (say Feb - April). FInd more about when to visit the Caribbean here: http://www.101holidays.co.uk/best-time-to-visit-the-caribbean.
  • The Bahamas is beautiful all year long. There can be storms in September/October. But even then they usually pass quickly. December is coolest month but still usually in 70s with lots of sunshine...warms up each month to a peak in July and August.

Our favourite spots are in the "family islands", particularly Great and Little Exuma. Check out http://discoverexuma.com for loads more information on things to do and places to stay and eat etc.

The water is warm and relatively constant temperature all year long. On Exuma there are music festivals, regattas and holiday parades that are each fun....but if you want to walk on a virtually empty beach and look at the clear turquoise water then any month is great.
