The Mela (meaning ‘get-together’ or ‘celebration’ in Sanskrit) is Scotland’s biggest intercultural festival and was founded by Edinburgh’s Pakistani, Indian and Bangladeshi communities to celebrate the city’s cultural diversity, with the emphasis on South Asia.
