The Pink Lake photo

Twenty miles (32km) north of Dakar, the Pink Lake, or 'Lac Rose', is a major tourist attraction. Famous for its colour that changes depending on the light, and also as the last stage in the Paris-Dakar rally, the shallow lake has a rich concentration of minerals, and men and women work day and night extracting salt from the bottom.
