Plettenberg Bay was originally called \'Bahia Formosa\' (Beautiful Bay) by the early Portuguese explorers, and it is still possible to see why. It is one of the beautiful stops on the famous Garden Route and is renowned for its endless, white beaches, beautiful lagoon and river mouth, whale watching, nature reserve, pansy shells and night life.
